Jackie Hynes Therapy respects your privacy and takes care to keep your personal information safe.
To respond to enquiries and provide counselling or hypnotherapy, I may collect your name, contact details, information shared on your client form, relevant information about your wellbeing, and brief notes relating to our sessions.
This information is used to arrange appointments, provide therapy, communicate with you and meet my professional, legal and insurance responsibilities. Information relating to your health and wellbeing is treated as sensitive and handled with particular care in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Your information is kept confidential. I may discuss my work in professional supervision, but identifying details will be removed wherever possible. Information would only be shared with your permission where there is a serious concern about your safety or someone else’s safety, where safeguarding action is required, or where I am legally required to disclose it.
Paper records are stored securely, and electronic information is password protected. Client records are normally kept for seven years after therapy ends, in line with professional and insurance requirements, and are then securely destroyed.
You may ask to see the personal information I hold about you, request that inaccurate information is corrected, or ask questions about how your information is used. Some information may need to be retained for professional, insurance or legal reasons.
